After a year of devis, factures & a string of broken promises for start dates very little real work had been carried out at my property. Mr Venton became harder and harder to contact and responded to emails only sporadically. A visit to the site in June 2008 showed his company to have perhaps a dozen staff and a small fleet of vans bearing the company livery. At this time I took out a €30,000 works mortgage to finance the renovations at Mr. Venton's suggestion. More devis were drawn up and contracts signed. A downpayment of at least €10,000 was required by MyLimousin to start renovations. Numerous excuses were made over the Summer as to why work was not beginning and finally, in October a half dozen photos were offered in evidence of progress at the site. Then things went quiet.

I last heard from this man on the 9th June, 2009 whereupon he was still vaguely promising to renovate my house and honour contracts he had made worth the tens of thousands of pounds I had paid to his company. After numerous broken promises to communicate and to honour his obligations it became abundantly clear that Mr. Venton had abandoned his erstwhile clients to the tender mercies of the official French liquidator. I later discovered an email establishing that although trading in the company was officially suspended on 22.12.08, Ms. Foley & Mr. Venton were actively soliciting further payment from myself on 07.01.09 for work that would never be carried out by the entity to which I was paying the money. Nor was I appraised of any difficulties the business was in until months later. Quite obviously, I would never again trust these people with a single penny of my money or do business with him in any capacity in the light of his behaviour towards myself and others.
